Walt is my first born son, and he is the inspiration for the title. However, my second born son is just as important to the story. "Stu" whose real name is Wade, has been so important to Walt and our family that Walt's Osteogenesis Imperfecta pales in comparison.

Joy in the pain is how I think of both of "Our Sons," which is how I pray for and think about both of them. The main other parent for Our Sons is God, without whom none of us live or breathe on this earth. We have had the opportunity to learn more about God's goodness through the trials.

Please write me from our contact page on this website if you want to discuss parenting a child with Osteogenesis Imperfecta or anything else.

Kathy Wilkinson, daughter of the author and illustrator, Mom to 2 great sons!
